Stressful back to school? Yes, often, but it also gives the opportunity to take stock of his life as a mother, a woman, a professional. A whole program dissected by the psychologist Anne Gatecel.

Back to work is often experienced as a time of great stress. Why ?

Women perceive that whenever they dare to make a request for flexibility, the company often takes advantage of it to make them pay the price in one way or another.

  • Anne Gatecel: Because it is a moment when there are crucial questions of organization, which women, most often, are called upon to answer and which are decisive for the balance of the family. For new moms as well as for the more experienced, it's a time of stress that, even if it has its good side because it gives the feeling of being active and having some control over one's life, is everything the same generator of anxiety. It is a kind of new test in a society that is in no way facilitating.

Are you referring to the professional life-family relationship?

  • Perhaps, but I can tell you that there is still a lot to do. Take the closing hours of nurseries, recreation centers: 18 hours to 18 h 30. Who, given transport times, can fit into this? I work in a CMPP *. It is very comfortable for me since the working hours are 9 to 17 hours. But which parent is likely to free himself in this context to come and talk about his child?
