Dermatosis of allergic origin, occurring spontaneously on a predisposed ground, often family, after the first trimester of the life.
The skin is dry, red, rough. The itching is important, even unbearable. In the infant, the eczema reaches the face, then around two years is preferably housed in the folds of the limbs and symmetrically.
The medical treatment aims first to avoid superinfection, through daily baths and the application of antiseptic ointments, or even the administration of antibiotics when the lesions are highly infected. To soothe breakouts, creams based on corticosteroids give excellent results.
To avoid: wearing wool, atmospheres that are too dry, baths too hot. Eczema generally disappears around the age of 3, sometimes giving way to a respiratory event (asthma or hay fever).
